Add Your Name in Google

Google has rolled out a new feature in its search engine which can help you to fulfill your dream of appearing in the search result of Google without having any big website or blog in your name.

Google has named this feature "People Card". People card is nothing but a digital visiting card. 

Below is a example of a people card.

You can create your "People Card" very easily through the steps which I am going to explain you later in the post and Your Name card will appear on the Google search result whenever anyone search your name in the Google search.

So before we start the process of adding your name in Google and create "People Card" lets see the minimum requirements for it.

1. An Android Phone/Tablet or iPhone/iPad. (Currently not available in desktop/laptop)
2. Mobile browser or Google Search App.
3. A personal Google account.
4. Web & Activity turned On.
5. For India users - This feature is only available when language is set to English.

If you meet the above minimum criteria then follow below steps to generate People Card.

• On your mobile or tablet open the web browser and go to Google.com or open the Google search app.
• Type "add me to google" in search bar and press enter.
• In the search result window you will find an option to add yourself to Google Search. Press "Get Started".
• Fill all the information related to you in the next screen. You can also preview your card in this screen. 
• Submit and Done.

As per Google it will take few hours before your name card appears in the search result. And if you share your name with someone famous then you have to add some specific terms to distinguish from them. For example if your name is Ranveer Singh than you have to add terms like Ranveer Singh Blogger or Ranveer Singh Trainer otherwise the top result in search will show the famous Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh.

Warning: Only fill correct information about yourself, otherwise Google will remove your card.

Some content guidelines for People Card as per Google are:

1. Should be a true representation of who you are and what you do
2. Should not contain solicitation or other forms of advertisement
3. Must not include negative, derogatory, or comparative statements about other individuals, groups, events, or issues
4. Must not in any way promote, incite, or support hate, violence, or unlawful behavior
5. Must respect the rights of others, including intellectual property and privacy rights
